Let's chat

We know how passionate Kiwis are about chocolate. And we know some of the changes we’ve made over the past 12 months haven’t been popular with everyone.

The love and trust Kiwis have shown us is so important to us – and respecting this love is our number one priority. And while we can’t change some things – such as where some of our products are made – we can do other things.

So this forum is for us to hear from you. Tell us the things that you’d like to see us do. It may be about how we can help benefit New Zealand communities – for example, by using our Fundraiser product – or how you’d love us to create a club where Kiwis can get free chocolate, or be the first to try new products.

We can’t promise we’ll be able to do absolutely everything – but we’ll certainly take all of your suggestions seriously to see what we can do. And you can be sure you’ll hear back from us.

  1. I know it was changed a few months back but gutted that you’ve removed the wrapped crunchie from the Milk Tray options and introduced nasty ole turkish delight! (no doubt you’ve done your research but its still a shame). Also so not a fan of your new boxing for the Milk Tray – much preferred the indulgent two tier, Presume they are still the same size and quantity?

    • Hi Jingyu, thanks for trying Fairtrade Certified Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate, we hope you enjoyed it. Just so you know achieving Fairtrade Certification for each individual ingredient that can be Fairtrade Certified is complex and takes time. We have started with our biggest seller plain Cadbury Dairy Milk first because it’s two main ingredients that can be Fairtrade Certified are cocoa and sugar. Other products have additional ingredients such as fruit, nuts, fillings, wafers, etc and each of these need to be individually Fairtrade Certified. It is our hope that we will bring additional Cadbury Fairtrade Certified products to you in the future.

  3. Such B.S that Bournvita is no longer available, my mum has been buying it since I was little. I’ve been searching high and low for it, only to come to the website and see the comments left by everybody else. I have fond memories having Bournvita on my icecream as a kid and telling my family that only Cadbury easter eggs would do. Bugger that now Whitakers, Kiwi Made, gets my money.

  7. Gutted you’ve discontinued Bournvita. I agree with Lyn. Our household is fed up with Cadbury’s product changes. You’re not getting customer demand for Bournvita because your marketing of it is rubbish. Bournvita is a superior product to Milo however Nestle do a far better job at marketing Milo as a brand. Indeed, such a good job that Bournvita is referred to as Milo in our house. Wish you could have just got your act together and done a better job advertising instead of discontinuing the product.

  8. Like many of the other customers here, I was saddened to hear Bournvita was no longer available. I wish there had been some kind of heads up such as an in store sign letting us know when the product would cease production. Had I known; I would’ve stocked up on a few boxes rather than to go in to the supermarket and find my favourite chocolate drink is no more. Is this something Cadbury could consider in the case of any future changes?

Limited stocks of Bourn-vita are still available for purchase in New Zealand however we stopped making the product in September last year.
We still have our Cadbury Drinking Chocolate available though. Cadbury mint and caramel flavours are selling very well, if you’d like to give those a try. In the meantime, we will endeavour to inform our customers of future product changes as early as possible.

  12. hi there, i brought two family packs of pascall party mix. Very highly disappointed! they are just not the same as they were last time i brought a bag. I have been buying Pascall lollies for a long time, and all of a sudden they have definitely gone down hill. The flavours of the jelly etc tastes like it’s been made cheaper or something, and the look of the lollies just look different too, just being made completely different . Just bring back the old lollies, Pascall used to have a good name, and good products! not happy! anyone else feel the same?

  14. Hi there

We are the proud parents of Korbin who is 13 years old and lives with Congenital Heart Disease and who is also a Cure Kid Ambassador.

We need your help!! Cure kids is an amazing organisation who helps kids like Korbin with funding medical research and we want to be a part of crazily working our way through the length of New Zealand helping to raise money to continue their wonderful support.

We are approaching local businesses to help support us with either monetary donation or prizes to be used at “Team Korbin’s” fundraising events. We would appreciate any support you are able to offer as every dollar counts.

What is the benefit for your organisation? Not only would you be apart of helping the children of New Zealand but also for every organisation that helps us in our endeavours we will add your companies logo to either our banner or costumes.

Not only are we trying to raise our entry fee of $7,000 for our team, we would like to be the winners of the Cure Kids Champion Fundraising Trophy, which will be presented at the prize giving ceremony at the end of the Challenge.

This is all in the name of funding vital medical research for children’s life threatening illnesses. (like heart disease and cystic fibrosis). We only have to find the energy and willpower to ‘survive’ these 3 days while the kids we are raising funds for have to find the same determination to face their challenges on a daily basis.

Donations can be made through our online fundraising page which you can access through http://www.cure kids.co.nz, click on the “Novotel $10 Challenge” and then “to support a competitor”

    Thanks for your support

I absolutely love the liqueur-filled ones but only 25% of it :) You used to have them as flavours in the Cadbury Roses brand (I’m sure you’ll say that they were discontinued because there wasn’t enough customer demand… but how do you ascertain which Roses flavours are favourites?) which was the main reason why I bought them, but alas…

  19. What happened to the Perky Nanas? I live in Melbourne but my husband works in NZ so every trip back to Melbourne he brings back bags of perky nanas bite size which we share with all our Australian friends who loved them.

The lastest batch (made in Australia) are terrible, there are less in the packet 12 instead of 15 and they were tasteless and rubbery. None of our Aussie friends liked them either. Why is such a great NZ chocolate bar being made in Australia? I’m sorry Cadbury but you’ve killed my last little connection with my NZ childhood.

  20. Hi
Have just opened a packet of Pascal Fruit Jubes, a favourite of our family for many years (Particularly the berry ones). I immediately thought I must have bought the wrong ones (hard jubes); they were hard and lacking in flavour. On inspection I find that they are now made in Australia, seems you have lost focus on what made these products so popular…….SOFT Jubes .
While I have continued buying the Made in Thailand mints, because they were not noticeably different, I will not buy your poor quality jubes again. As a fellow NZ manufacturer I know how hard it is to compete against imports; but if you are going to import substitutes then at least bring in products that are as good as or better than your originals.

    • Hi Barry,
Great to hear from a fellow Kiwi manufacturer.
When products move factories we do everything possible to ensure the taste that people love so much is retained, after all this is what has made these products Kiwi favourites. In a few cases, recipes have changed slightly, and there may also be some textural variations between batches as happens with all confectionery products. Whilst some consumers may notice slight changes, our research gives us reason to believe that most Kiwi consumers will continue to enjoy these much-loved products.
Glad to hear that you’re still a fan of our Minties.

  22. Hi. Just wanted to let you know that sadly after a 30 year+ love affair with Cadbury chocolate I am no longer a Cadbury customer – I honestly can’t take to that “Aussie” tasting chocolate and just won’t buy it anymore. However, I thought I was in the minority here and have been very shocked by the public response to the selling of my sons fundraising chocolate around the neighbourhood. It seems I am in the majority here and we have found it very hard to sell (for the first time ever) people continually commenting on how bad it now tastes and they just won’t buy it – one neighbour even bought two bars at a cost of $5.00 and told us to keep the chocolate!! Now that’s saying something Cadbury and if you aren’t listening to overwhelming consumer response then it is only a matter of time before an old Kiwi company favourite too becomes a thing of the past.

    • Hi Tracey,
We’re sorry to hear that you’re no longer happy with the taste of our chocolate after being such a loyal fan for so many years. Last year we had to make some tough decisions regarding manufacturing in NZ, this resulted in the Dunedin factory becoming a specialised factory making certain product ranges. As a result production of some products was moved to other factories. Moving products to different factories was not an easy decision to make as we know many consumers would prefer the products they love are made in their backyard. We still make a number of iconic NZ products at our Dunedin factory including Buzz Bar, Chews, Pebbles, Jaffas, Pineapple Lumps, Roses, Milk Tray and Old Gold Continental.

Making a chocolate bar in a different factory is like making a cake in a different kitchen –you can’t always guarantee it will turn out exactly the same. So though we’ve been working hard to get it right, there may be some slight changes noticeable in the initial batches of products made in our Australian factory.

Whilst some consumers may notice slight changes, our research gives us reason to believe that most Kiwi consumers will continue to enjoy these much-loved products.

    • Hi Charlotte,
Sorry to hear that you’re not happy with some of the changes we’ve made. Are you referring to our Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate? Last year, New Zealand told us loudly and clearly that they don’t want palm oil in our Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. As a result, we’ve returned to a cocoa butter recipe.

  25. I have a friend who was in Ireland recently who fell in love with the Moro’s original candybars that you make. Is there any way I could order these candy bars?

    • Hey Diane, Great to hear you love the Moro candy bars. Unfortunately we are not able to order them for you. Have you tried Moro Gold?
